New Lead Paint law enforcement delayed until October, 2010 now.

Tom Carten, principal of Thomas Interior Painting, successfully completed the 8 hour EPA model course in April of 2010 and received his Certificate of Completion.

The EPA has promulgated new lead paint protocols for contractors that disturb existing paint finishes through demolition which they define as tbe scraping, sanding, cutting of any walls, trim, ceilings etc. built before 1978.

Any of the above in area greater than 6X6 feet on any interior room or 20X20 feet on exteriors triggers this RRP protocol For more detailed information including specific exceptions visit: www.epa.gov/lead/pubs/renovation.

Thomas Interior Painting is reviewing the significant training, material, labor and compliance costs before determining whether it will pursue RRP work going forward.

In the interim, the company is focused on post 1978 renovation work.
